For those that are brand new to the world of projection mapping, there are a few cheap and easy-to-use apps for IOS (iPad, iPod and iPhone) and in this instance Android as well, that serve as a great introduction to mapping 2D content onto 3D objects.

Today I am testing and providing insights to Optoma's new Projection Mapper app. I have to say this is currently the most advanced and comprehensive projector mapping app available on both IOS and Android
It is worth noting that this app was launched just under a week ago (17-10-2016), and is already set to be the most advance mobile device projection mapping tool, hopefully this will just be a taste of things to come. My expectations are now set very high
Here's a couple of examples using the software, it took me under 3hrs to create the content and map it to the image
To give you a taste of some of the features included in the app please see belo
During the launch period Optoma are running a create competition, using their app, with the chance to win one of their short throw projectors
It is certainly worth checking out their projectors, currently, and to the best of my knowledge they offer the brightest full HD short throw and ultra short throw projectors
Bottom line. I can safely say, having tested every VJ and projection mapping app I can find for IOS this is certainly the best I have seen to date, with regards to ease of use, technical features and creative potential, not to mention compatibility. Great job, especially considering this has only just been released.
